Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support
- Operate manual handling equipment like Hoyer lifts safely to assist with resident transfers and repositioning
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences
- Maintain accurate documentation using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems and complete detailed shift reports
- Engage clients in social activities and provide companionship to promote mental well-being
- Follow infection control procedures, including cleaning and sanitizing care areas and equipment
- Implement behavior management strategies for individuals with cognitive disabilities or dementia-related conditions
- Drive clients safely using standard passenger cars when required for appointments or community outings
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or residential care homes is highly desirable
- Knowledge of ADLs assistance, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, geriatrics, and long-term care practices
- Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional training in safe patient lifting practices is preferred
- Ability to operate EMR systems accurately and efficiently for documentation purposes
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or cognitive impairments is a plus
- Strong communication skills for effective client interaction and team collaboration
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and manual handling tasks safely throughout shifts
- Valid driver’s license for driving duties related to client transportation or community outings
