Job Summary
Rig Runner is a specialized trucking and logistics company. We are looking for an experienced Vehicle Inspector/ELD Camera Installation Specialist for the Alice, TX location. The focus of this position is to inspect commercial and company equipment according to DOT regulations. This position will also install ELD cameras on commercial vehicles.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Perform routine maintenance, such as inspecting drives, motors, or belts, checking fluid levels, replacing filters, or doing other preventive maintenance actions.
- Conduct safety inspections on commercial motor vehicles in accordance with federal and state regulations.
- Examine the permits, licenses, and registration records to ensure compliance with state / federal licensing / registration requirements.
- Install commercial vehicle ELD camera systems and other devices as needed, including electrical components and communication technology.
- Repair and replace damaged or worn parts.
- Troubleshoot products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications and DOT requirements.
- Conduct 360 and 90-day inspections according to DOT regulations.
- Possess strong analytical abilities and problem-solving skills to handle the diverse configurations of ELD camera equipment.
- Able to read, understand and apply information from manuals & computers including trouble-shooting documents.
- Must be a team player who promotes a clean and safe work environment.
- Perform other duties and special projects as required.
Qualifications & Skills
- Must have a high school diploma/GED
- Minimum of 1-2 years of comparable mechanic experience preferably on commercial vehicles
- Valid driver's license
- Experience in preventative maintenance on large trucks including changing tires, adjusting breaks, and wiring trucks/trailers.
