Duties
- Operate snow removal equipment such as snow blowers, plows, shovels, and salt spreaders to clear snow and ice efficiently
- Assess weather conditions regularly to determine the most effective snow removal strategies
- Ensure all walkways, entrances, parking lots, and pathways are free of snow and ice to prevent slips and falls
- Apply salt or other de-icing materials according to safety protocols to enhance traction
- Perform routine inspections of grounds to identify areas needing additional attention or maintenance after snowfall
- Follow safety procedures diligently when handling power tools, ground maintenance equipment, and chemicals
- Maintain records of completed snow removal activities and report any hazards or equipment issues promptly
Requirements
- Prior outdoor work experience, especially in winter conditions or grounds maintenance preferred
- Mechanical knowledge related to equipment operation and basic troubleshooting is a plus
- Strong adherence to safety protocols to ensure personal safety and that of colleagues during outdoor operations
- Physical stamina to perform manual shoveling, lifting heavy loads, and working in cold weather conditions for extended periods
- Excellent attention to detail with a proactive attitude towards maintaining safe outdoor environments
