Description
Riester is an independent advertising agency with offices in Phoenix, AZ, El Segundo, CA and Park City, Utah. Riester seeking a part-time (25-30 hours per week) Print Production Manager & Art Buyer for the Phoenix location. Prior experience is required.
Print Production Manager & Art Buyer
Key Responsibilities
- Project management: Develop and manage project timelines, schedules and budgets for all print projects.
- Vendor management: Identify, select and negotiate with printers and other suppliers to get the best price, quality and turnaround time.
- Image acquisition: Maintain stock image, font usage and mock-up template accounts
- Freelance resource management: Maintain a roster of photographers, illustrators, storyboard artists, letterers, talent agents, language translators, etc.
- Pre-production: Oversee pre-press tasks, including file preparation, proofing and final approvals, ensuring accuracy of color, text and graphics.
- Production: Coordinate printing and finishing, conduct quality control at every stage, and ensure that all deadlines are met.
- Team and client coordination: Collaborate with internal teams (Creative, Digital, Media, Integration, PR) and external clients to ensure project goals are aligned and met.
- Quality assurance: Conduct final quality checks on all print materials before delivery to ensure they meet client expectations and agency standards..
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of production process for 4-color reproduction, spot-color printing, letterpress
- Knowledge of paper stocks, printing processes and techniques for web and offset printing
- Knowledge of direct mail formats, USPS regulations, postal rates and list acquisition parameters
- Familiarity with large-format printing, screen printing, product packaging, tradeshow and environmental graphics production
- Understanding of copyright law, usage and contract terms
- Possess excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to solve problems creatively within given constraints (e.g. budget, delivery date)
- Strong analytical and computer skills (Google Drive Suite and Creative Cloud)
- Ability to focus on accuracy, attention-to-detail and timeliness.
- Ability to keep supervisor and team members properly informed.
- Ability to prioritize workload and manage multiple projects from concept through production, across multiple media.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule due to deadline-driven work.
- Stay current with design and advertising trends and techniques.
