EHS Engineer
RIE Coatings is seeking an experienced Environmental, HealthSafety (EHS) Engineer to lead environmental compliance and workplace safety initiatives across our manufacturing facilities in 3 states. This is a high-impact role responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance, reducing risk, and promoting a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
This is an on-site position and can be located at any one of our three locations: Albuquerque, NM, Dubuque, IA, or Eden Valley, MN. Travel between locations is required.
What You'll Do
- Lead environmental, health, and safety programs across multiple manufacturing locations.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other federal, state, and local regulations.
- Manage environmental permits, reporting, and regulatory inspections.
- Oversee hazardous waste, wastewater, air emissions, and chemical management programs.
- Conduct safety audits, risk assessments, incident investigations, and root cause analyses.
- Develop and deliver EHS training for employees.
- Partner with operations and engineering teams to improve safety, environmental performance, and compliance.
- Track EHS metrics and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Safety Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Occupational HealthSafety, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
- 3-5 years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations including RCRA, CAA, CWA, EPCRA, and SPCC.
- Experience with environmental permitting, regulatory reporting, hazardous waste management, and incident investigations.
- Knowledge of wastewater treatment systems and environmental compliance is preferred.
- Experience in metal finishing, plating, coating, anodizing, or other chemical manufacturing processes is a plus.
- OSHA 30 certification (or ability to obtain) required. HAZWOPER 40, CHMM, REM, CSP, or ISO 14001 experience is a plus.
- Ability to travel to other locations as needed, approximately 25-35%.
