Duties
- Safely operate a box truck for long-distance deliveries across multiple states, following designated routes and schedules.
- Load and unload cargo using manual handling techniques, pallet jacks, or material handling equipment while practicing safe lifting practices.
- Ensure accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and route logs using mobile devices or onboard systems.
- Adhere strictly to DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, traffic laws, and weight handling guidelines to maintain safety standards.
- Provide excellent customer service by delivering goods professionally, answering questions, and ensuring customer satisfaction during each interaction.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to identify maintenance needs or safety issues.
- Collaborate with warehouse personnel for efficient loading/unloading processes and maintain warehouse operations when necessary.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, courier, or commercial truck driver with a focus on box trucks or similar vehicles.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience with manual transmission preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to handle manual lifting, heavy loads, and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks.
- Knowledge of DOT regulations related to commercial driving and weight handling in the workplace.
- Warehouse experience including material handling equipment operation is highly desirable.
- Strong route driving skills with familiarity in route planning and adherence to traffic regulations.
- Excellent customer service skills with professional communication abilities.
- Ability to operate mobile devices for route navigation, delivery confirmation, and reporting purposes.
