Ridgewell Restoration is a growing property restoration company serving Denton, Argyle, Flower Mound, Southlake, Lewisville, Justin, Roanoke and surrounding North DFW communities.

Our initial focus is water-damage mitigation, emergency response, structural drying and selective demolition, with plans to expand into mold remediation, fire restoration and reconstruction.

Position Summary

The Lead Water Mitigation Technician / Crew Chief is a hands-on field leader responsible for running water-mitigation projects safely, efficiently and professionally.

You will respond to property-damage emergencies, assess job conditions, lead technicians and helpers, perform mitigation work, document the loss and communicate clearly with customers throughout the project.

This is not an entry-level position. The successful candidate should be able to independently lead a typical residential water-loss project from the initial response through equipment removal and job closeout.

What You’ll Do

• Lead residential, multifamily and light-commercial water-mitigation projects from initial response through dry-down completion.
• Perform initial jobsite inspections, moisture mapping and documentation of affected materials and conditions.
• Conduct and supervise water extraction, selective demolition, containment, cleaning and structural drying.
• Determine appropriate equipment placement and assist with drying calculations based on job conditions, company and industry standards.
• Set, monitor, clean and remove air movers, dehumidifiers, HEPA air scrubbers and related mitigation equipment.
• Direct technicians and helpers while maintaining productivity, workmanship and jobsite safety.
• Explain the mitigation process and project status to homeowners, tenants and property managers in a calm and professional manner.
• Complete accurate job documentation, including photographs, moisture readings, daily monitoring logs, notes, authorizations and equipment records.
• Provide timely updates regarding job progress, scope changes, customer concerns and potential billing issues.
• Track labor, equipment, materials and consumable usage on assigned projects.
• Maintain clean, orderly and professional jobsites, vehicles, tools and equipment.
• Identify safety hazards and implement appropriate PPE, containment and risk-control measures.
• Train junior technicians on technical procedures, documentation, customer interaction and Ridgewell standards.
• Participate in a rotating emergency-response schedule, including occasional nights, weekends and holidays.

What We’re Looking For

• Two or more years of hands-on water mitigation or property restoration experience.
• Experience independently leading water-loss projects or directing technicians and helpers.
• Experience resolving Category 3 water loss jobs.
• Current IICRC Water Restoration Technician (WRT) certification, or the ability to obtain it within an agreed-upon period after hire.
• Working knowledge of water extraction, structural drying, moisture monitoring, selective demolition and equipment setup and other S500 standards.
• Ability to recognize jobsite risks and follow appropriate safety, PPE and containment procedures.
• Strong customer-service and communication skills, particularly with people experiencing stressful property damage.
• Comfortable using mobile software for photographs, readings, job notes, timekeeping and internal communication.
• Valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company-insurance requirements.
• Ability to participate in an emergency on-call rotation.
• Ability to pass applicable background, motor-vehicle-record and pre-employment screening requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

• IICRC Applied Structural Drying certification.
• IICRC Applied Microbial Remediation Technician certification.
• Experience with Xactimate, Encircle, DocuSketch, MICA or similar restoration software.
• Experience with mold remediation, contents handling, fire and smoke cleanup or reconstruction coordination.
• Experience working with property managers, multifamily properties and insurance-related restoration projects.
• Previous experience training or mentoring restoration technicians.
• Bilingual English and Spanish skills.

Physical Requirements

This is a hands-on field position. Team members must be able to:

• Regularly lift and carry at least 50 pounds.
• Load, unload and position air movers, dehumidifiers, HEPA units and extraction equipment.
• Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crawl, climb stairs and work in confined or awkward spaces.
• Work in hot, cold, wet, dusty or otherwise challenging environments.
• Wear required PPE and respiratory protection when appropriate.
• Drive to jobsites throughout North DFW.

Compensation and Benefits

• $24–$28 per hour, depending on experience, certifications and ability to independently lead projects.
