About Ridgeway Investments

Ridgeway Investments is a family office specializing in real estate investment, development, and asset

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to join our team and play a key role in supporting our growing real estate platform. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with leadership while helping drive the accounting and financial operations of multiple real estate investment and development entities.

Position Overview

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing and executing accounting functions across

multiple entities, ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and efficient accounting processes. The ideal candidate brings strong real estate accounting experience, a high level of ownership and accountability, and a willingness to personally own the accounting process from transaction-level detail through financial reporting. This individual will serve as a valuable resource to the accounting team while helping ensure the accuracy and integrity of our financial information.

Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple entities
  • Prepare financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Record and review journal entries
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy and perform account reconciliations
  • Manage inter-company transactions and reconciliations
  • Support cash management and cash flow forecasting
  • Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
  • Support lender, investor, audit, and tax reporting requirements
  • Research and resolve accounting issues
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and controls
  • Collaborate with leadership, development, operations, and asset management teams
  • Serve as a technical accounting resource and subject matter expert for the team

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA preferred (help prepare year end financials for third party tax team)
  • 5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Direct experience in real estate accounting required
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation
  • Experience managing accounting for multiple entities
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and software (Quickbooks, Divvy, Appfolio)
  • Experience with ERP and accounting systems
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Experience

  • Real estate investment and development accounting
  • Construction accounting
  • Property, Partnership, and LLC accounting
  • Capital accounts and investor reporting
  • Debt and loan accounting

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a true accounting professional—someone who genuinely enjoys accounting and takes pride in producing accurate financial information. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both solving complex accounting problems and rolling up their sleeves to execute. While this position will serve as a technical resource for the accounting team, success in this role requires a willingness to own the details, work through reconciliations, prepare journal entries,

manage month-end close processes, and ensure the books are accurate across multiple entities.

The right candidate is:

  • Strong technically, especially in real estate accounting
  • Highly detail-oriented and organized
  • Comfortable operating independently
  • Willing to jump into the work rather than simply delegate it
  • Committed to accuracy and continuous improvement
  • Able to support, train, and elevate other members of the accounting team

We value expertise, ownership, and a strong work ethic. In return, we are committed to recognizing and rewarding exceptional talent.

Compensation

We recognize exceptional talent and are prepared to offer a highly competitive compensation package for the right candidate. Compensation will be commensurate with experience, expertise, and demonstrated success in real estate accounting.
