Purpose of Job
This position is responsible for managing and coordinating room service, catering services, and café services within Nutrition Services operations to ensure an efficient and effective operation.
Job Functions
- Manages all culinary staff and supervises training
- Responsible for scheduling and timecard approval
- Manages patient, catering, and café food production
- Submits and manages equipment work orders
- Is responsible for purchasing, inventory and receiving.
- Oversees sanitation and organization of the entire department.
- Monitors cash handling and ensure compliance with policies.
- Manages and updates all retail and online marketing and signage under the direction of the Director.
- Controls food cost and retail pricing in conjunction with Director.
- Develops seasonal menus and specials that are enticing to customer base. Engages with customers to collect feedback used to implement change.
- Creates a work environment which attracts quality staff, develops, and retains those team members in direct support of the organization’s goals to provide a world-class work environment.
- Regulates, specifies and controls supply inventory to meet the patient, catering and café requirements.
- Identifies areas for improvement, develops solutions and presents proposed changes to the Director.
- Ensure compliance with DNV, OSHA, state health departments and other regulations
- Responds to patient, customer and employee concerns, complaints, and suggestions.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma
- 2 years of Food Service experience
- 2 years of supervision experience
- Excellent culinary skills and capability to both perform and direct staff
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop team
- Demonstrate the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and influencing skills and ability to build strong working relationships at all levels
- Assures excellent service with a high degree of urgency to internal and external customers
- Demonstrated computer aptitude to include ability to effectively utilize the Microsoft suite
- Systemic thinking when contemplating and implementing change
- Ability to meet and maintain the necessary background checks as aligned with position functions.
- Ability to communicate in the English language for effective written and verbal correspondence in order to complete job functions as mentioned above.
- ServeSafe Certification or obtained within 6-months of hire.
- Certified Food Protection Manager or obtained within 6-months of hire.
- Previous healthcare related experience
