We are seeking an experienced Production Planner for our Grand Rapids, Mi. location with a patient, friendly, and positive attitude. The ideal candidate for this role will have the following credentials.
Primary responsibilities candidate will be trained to perform:
· Cultivate positive customer relationships through proactive communication, timely response to concerns and follow through on requested information.
· Positive communication and follow through to create an environment of mutual respect, healthy conflict, constructive interaction and team accountability.
· Assist with the execution of consistent production schedule creation and resource management.
· Effectively utilize the QAD system and related tools to manage customer forecast and sales orders.
· Set up new part numbers, customers, update and maintain customer orders and ship-to locations.
· Support customer and supplier returns. Track missed or late shipments along with expedites to customers.
· Manage inventory needs at outside processors based on production lead times and customer requirement dates.
· Work with purchasing on material shortages in part through analyzing the amount of material required to complete production work orders and customer requirements.
· Analyze schedule and material use to identify developing problem areas including slow-moving material, discontinued/obsolete material, and expedited material.
· Identify and propose activities to drive intentional, incremental and sustainable improvements.
· Support quality initiatives and corrective action processes as required.
· Identify cost saves via process, productivity, scheduling principles, and other improvements.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, business or operations management.
· Minimum of 3 years automotive customer service planning experience.
· Passion and discipline to accurately follow procedures and work instructions.
· Excellent communicator who can deliver information in a clear, open, honest and accurate method.
· Data driven approach to problem solving and decision making.
· Willing to take direction and work independently when needed.
· Must be a team player.
· Dedicated to teamwork and putting the value of team before individual interest.
· Microsoft Excel skills.
· QAD experience preferred.
