What are the responsibilities and job description for the Special Education MoCI Teacher Assistant position at Ridgeview Elementary?
Qualifications/Description:
- Ability to physically attend to student care needs, including personal care, diapering, transfers to and from wheelchair, tube feeding, medication administration, augmentative communication, assistive technology devices and wheelchair mobility;
- Ability to lift 50 pounds;
- Provide support to students within general/special education school settings and the community;
- Experience working with students with disabilities, including but not limited to cognitive impairments, autism, and limited communication is preferred;
- Ability to monitor and manage student behavior;
- Ability to follow, implement and document all aspects of Positive Behavior Intervention Plan;
- Effective communication skills with a variety of staff members;
- Ability to work with children in a caring, nurturing manner;
- Demonstrates flexibility, teamwork, organization and strong work ethic;
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality;
- Basic computer skills preferred;
- Ukeru and/or CPI training is preferred.
- One of the following preferred:
- 60 credit hours of college credit
- Associate's degree
- College Board’s SAT score of at least a 480 on evidence-based reading and writing and a 530 on math
- ETS Parapro Assessment with a passing score of 460
