Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, front loader trucks, and dump trucks to prepare surfaces and apply pavement markings
- Apply traffic paint, thermoplastic, or other marking materials accurately according to project specifications
- Conduct utility locating to ensure markings do not interfere with underground utilities before starting work
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, grinding, or removing old markings to ensure proper adhesion of new markings
- Assist in paving operations and coordinate with construction teams to maintain project timelines
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment to ensure safety and optimal performance
- Follow all safety protocols and construction site procedures while maintaining a clean work environment
Qualifications
- Prior experience operating heavy construction equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, graders, or similar machinery
- Knowledge of pavement marking techniques including painting and thermoplastic application
- Construction site experience with an understanding of safety standards and utility locating procedures
- Familiarity with heavy equipment brands like Caterpillar or equivalent machinery
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is preferred
