We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT) Driver to provide safe and efficient transportation services to patients in the Dayton, OH area. The NEMT Driver will be responsible for transporting patients to and from medical appointments, clinics, and other healthcare facilities.
Responsibilities:
Transport patients in a safe and timely manner to medical appointments and healthcare facilities
Ensure patients are safely seated, secured, and comfortable during transport
Provide assistance with wheelchair, stretcher, or other mobility devices as needed
Ensure the vehicle is clean and well-maintained, and report any maintenance issues to the appropriate personnel
Follow all traffic laws and company policies and procedures
Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and patient information
Communicate effectively with patients, medical staff, and other team members
Provide excellent customer service and care to patients and their families
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Must pass a background check and drug screening
Must be able to lift and maneuver wheelchairs and stretchers, as well as assist patients with mobility
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
Knowledge of the Dayton, OH area is a plus
Experience:
Previous experience as a driver, preferably in a medical or healthcare environment, is a plus but not required
Must be willing to undergo training and certification in First Aid, CPR, and defensive driving
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Must be able to push, pull, and maneuver wheelchairs and stretchers
Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time
