We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Emergency Dispatcher to join our team. Responsibilities
- Monitor and respond to emergency calls efficiently, utilizing multi-line phone systems.
- Dispatch appropriate emergency services based on the nature of the call and geographical information systems (GIS).
- Utilize GPS and transportation management systems to track service vehicles and optimize routes.
- Maintain accurate records of all communications and dispatch activities through data entry.
- Collaborate with logistics teams to ensure timely response and resolution of emergencies.
- Analyze transportation planning data to improve dispatching processes and enhance service delivery.
- Communicate effectively with team members, emergency personnel, and other stakeholders, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette.
- Manage shipping & receiving operations as needed, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Oversee fleet management tasks, ensuring vehicles are maintained and ready for deployment.
Experience
Candidates should possess a strong background in dispatching or logistics, with experience in the following areas considered advantageous:
- Proficiency in Oracle Transportation Management or SyteLine software.
- Familiarity with 3PL (third-party logistics) operations.
- Knowledge of freight management and supply chain processes.
- Strong typing skills with the ability to enter data accurately under time constraints.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective interaction with diverse teams.
