The Warehouse Associate is responsible for the safe handling, storage, preparation, and loading of glass products and related materials. This role supports fabrication, delivery, and production operations by ensuring glass is accurately staged, protected from damage, and moved efficiently while maintaining strict safety standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Safely handle, move, and store raw glass, fabricated glass, insulated glass units (IGs), and related materials
- Load and unload glass from delivery trucks using proper equipment and approved handling methods
- Stage glass for fabrication, cutting, tempering, or delivery according to job tickets and production schedules
- Transport glass within the facility using dollies, A-frames, cranes, forklifts, or other lifting devices
- Organize and maintain glass racks, A-frames, and storage areas for accessibility and safety
- Verify incoming shipments for accuracy and inspect glass for damage or defects
- Pull, package, and secure orders for delivery or jobsite transport
- Assist with inventory counts and report shortages or damaged materials
- Follow all safety procedures related to glass handling, lifting, and equipment operation
- Wear required PPE at all times and maintain awareness of surrounding hazards
- Immediately report safety concerns, damaged glass, or near-miss incidents
- Ensure glass is properly protected, labeled, and secured to prevent breakage
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, overhead cranes, and glass handling tools (training provided)
- Perform basic daily equipment checks and report maintenance needs
- Keep warehouse areas clean, organized, and free of debris
- Assist with other warehouse or production tasks as assigned
Qualifications & Skills
Required
- Ability to lift, maneuver, and control large sheets of glass with assistance or equipment
- Strong attention to safety, detail, and accuracy
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physical environment
- Reliable attendance and punctuality
- Ability to follow instructions and work both independently and as part of a team
Preferred
- Previous warehouse or glass industry experience
- Forklift or overhead crane experience (or willingness to be trained)
- Basic math and measurement skills
- Familiarity with shop drawings, job tickets, or production schedules
Physical Requirements
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, and reaching
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs with assistance or mechanical aids
- Ability to work around sharp edges, heavy materials, and industrial equipment
