Overview
Rick's Bike Shop has 30 years of history in the Glens Falls region. We carry both Trek and Specialized bikes, as well as some other niche offerings. We are looking for an enthusiastic person to lead a bicycle shop where great service, knowledgeable product guidance, and smooth daily operations keep customers and the team moving. As Bicycle Shop Manager, you’ll guide staff, oversee sales and inventory, and help customers find the right products and support. Your impact: By coaching the team and maintaining dependable inventory, you help customers make informed choices and ensure staff can serve them effectively.
Responsibilities
- Manage store operations, sales, budgets, pricing, purchasing, merchandising, stocking, and inventory control.
- Recruit and interview candidates; lead employee orientation, training and development, scheduling, shift management, and team supervision.
- Oversee point-of-sale (POS) systems, cashiering, cash handling, payroll, bookkeeping, and basic retail math.
- Deliver responsive customer service, resolve concerns, and support sales through product knowledge and clear communication.
- Monitor team performance, coordinate daily priorities, and maintain organized store processes.
Skills
- Required: Retail or store management, leadership, team management, supervising experience, operations management, inventory management, retail sales, and customer service.
- Experience managing a retail industry sales team, assistant manager experience, or sales management is preferred.
- Familiarity with POS systems, inventory control, purchasing, pricing, merchandising, budgeting, payroll, bookkeeping, and cash handling is valuable.
- Strong negotiation, managerial communication, phone etiquette, organizational skills, time management, and basic math skills.
- Bicycle or retail store product knowledge is helpful. Bilingual or multilingual abilities are welcome.
Pay: $53,600.00 - $64,700.00 per year
