Construction Crew Leader

Dynamic Decks is looking for a Deck Crew Leader to run their own two-person crew and build high-quality residential decks throughout the Idaho Falls area. This is a hands-on position — you're not standing back directing from a distance, you're out there building alongside your helper every day, while taking full ownership of the project from start to finish.

About the Role

As a Deck Crew Leader, you run your own crew and take responsibility for your projects, your quality of work, your jobsite, and your customer. You'll work directly alongside your helper to complete residential deck projects, with the scope and complexity of your projects growing as your experience and skill develop. More experienced Crew Leaders take on work involving plans, permits, and larger, more complex projects.

What You'll Do

• Lead a two-person deck construction crew
• Work hands-on alongside your crew helper to build residential decks and exterior projects
• Manage the daily execution of your assigned projects
• Read and work from project plans
• Work with permits when applicable
• Plan your daily work and materials needs
• Keep an organized, safe jobsite
• Communicate professionally with homeowners throughout the project
• Make sure the finished work meets quality expectations
• Coach and direct your crew helper
• Use a simple mobile app to document project information, materials, and progress
• Spot and solve problems in the field
• Communicate project issues or material needs back to management
• Own the project from start to finish

What We're Looking For

• 1–3 years of construction or carpentry experience preferred
• Deck-building experience is a plus, but not required if you have solid transferable construction skills
• Prior crew-lead or leadership experience preferred — we're also open to strong construction employees ready to take the next step
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage your time and priorities
• Attention to detail and pride in your work
• Good problem-solving instincts
• Comfortable communicating professionally with customers
• Comfortable using a basic mobile app for job documentation
• Valid driver's license
• Able to work independently and lead a small crew
