Duties
- Perform comprehensive auto body repairs, including dent removal, panel replacement, and structural repairs using advanced techniques such as MIG welding, soldering, and sheet metal fabrication.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and airless paint spraying equipment to prepare surfaces, apply paint, and finish vehicles with meticulous attention to detail.
- Conduct auto glass replacements and repairs while ensuring safety standards are met throughout the process.
- Prepare vehicles for painting by sanding, priming, and masking areas; execute auto painting with precision to match original colors and finishes.
- Use auto estimating software to assess damages accurately and communicate repair scopes effectively with customers.
- Assist in auto restoration projects by fabricating custom parts and performing mechanical repairs when necessary.
- Maintain a clean, organized workspace; perform heavy lifting safely when handling large panels or components; ensure all repairs meet quality standards before delivery.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Auto Body Technician or similar role within a dealership or independent shop.
- Strong knowledge of auto body repair techniques including welding (MIG welding), sheet metal work, soldering, and auto painting.
- Hands-on experience with power tools, hand tools, sanding equipment, and airless paint sprayers.
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems for effective repairs and diagnostics.
- Familiarity with auto glass installation and auto estimating procedures.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and work efficiently in a physically demanding environment.
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate repair processes clearly and professionally.
- Additional skills such as auto restoration experience, fabrication abilities, or mechanic experience are highly valued.
