Job Title: Substitute Coordinator

Job Group Non Union Support Staff
Pay Level: Non-Exempt, Grade 12
Reports to: Principal
Summary: Sources, screens, and hires persons to fill day-to-day and short term (30-day or less) substitute positions. Tracks leaves and substitute assignments on the District Absence Management System.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establishes and maintains relationships with administrators and teachers to remain aware of current and future staffing needs.
- Verifies that qualified candidates have completed the hiring process. Coordinates with Human Resources with the onboarding process.
- References the approved substitute list processed and approved by the Human Resources. Screens and assigns substitutes for coverage.
- Informs the substitutes about facilities, processes, and organizational expectations.
- Prepares information packets and maintains payroll records, using a software program (Frontline) to track information.
General Responsibilities: The ability to work in a collaborative team environment is essential to the employee's successful job performance. Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule.
Education and/or Experience: High School Diploma or the equivalent is required. Knowledge of legal implications of hiring such as: Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Affirmative Action guidelines, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other employment laws and statutes is preferred.
Other Skills and Abilities: Must have a working knowledge of office protocols, office machinery such as computers, copiers, and the telephone is essential. Demonstrated interpersonal skills such as to effectively establish and maintain good working relationships with others is needed. Knowledge of principles and procedures for fair employee selection is required. Must be able to keep high levels of confidentiality in all aspects of job performance and to perform duties with awareness of all District requirements and School Board policies is required.
