Richstone Family Center (RFC) is dedicated to preventing and treating child abuse and trauma; strengthening and educating families; and decreasing violence in families, schools and communities. Since 1974, RFC has established itself to provide comprehensive services that include: trauma-focused treatment and therapy, crisis intervention, group support facilitation, parenting and anger management classes, home visits, psycho-educational and self-esteem building workshops, and youth academic support programs.
Richstone Family Center is seeking an experienced and relationship-driven Manager of Philanthropic Partnerships to support its major donor strategy, with a primary focus on cultivating, securing, and stewarding high-impact philanthropic investments. This role is designed for an individual with knowledge of the South Bay of Los Angeles donor landscape, well-positioned within local philanthropic circles, and experienced in engaging major gift donors. The Manager will support efforts to expand Richstone’s network of individual, family, and corporate philanthropists, strengthen long-term relationships, and support the development of a major gifts pipeline to advance the agency’s mission and strategic priorities. Individual and corporate philanthropy are central to Richstone’s sustainability, making this role a vital part of the development team and the organization’s long-term success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Cultivate, steward, and grow a portfolio of major donors, including individuals, family foundations, corporate philanthropists, and community leaders.
- Build meaningful relationships that lead to significant philanthropic investments aligned with Richstone’s mission and strategic priorities.
- Conduct personalized donor outreach, meetings, site visits, and follow-ups to inspire ongoing and increased support.
- Oversee and manage special donor cultivation events to deepen engagement and advance major gift relationships.
- Maintain deep familiarity with donor interests, philanthropic patterns, and community priorities within the South Bay.
- Represent Richstone at key South Bay philanthropic, civic, and community events to expand the organization’s visibility and donor network.
- Collaborate with the fundraising and events team to support annual events and donor cultivation activities.
- Work closely with the VP of Strategic Partnerships, Executive Director, and engage with board members to leverage networks, strengthen donor pipelines, and support fundraising initiatives.
- Track donor trends and communicate relevant observations to support fundraising strategy.
- Ensure donor strategy activities are coordinated with program priorities and organizational goals.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent preferred.
- 3–5 years of experience in fundraising, donor relations, or major gifts, preferably within Los Angeles County or the South Bay region.
- Relevant experience maintaining and expanding donor portfolios, with demonstrated success identifying and cultivating new foundation, corporate, and individual donors.
- Demonstrated success cultivating major gifts in excess of $100k annually.
- Knowledge of the South Bay philanthropic community; existing relationships a plus.
- Exceptional interpersonal, verbal, and presentation skills, with the ability to inspire confidence and communicate Richstone’s mission compellingly.
- Strong relationship-building and donor management skills.
- Experience working with diverse communities and donors from a range of cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with leadership, board members, cross-functional staff, and external partners.
- Strong organizational, planning, and time-management skills; ability to manage multiple donor relationships simultaneously.
- Proficiency with donor management systems (e.g., Raiser’s Edge or similar CRM), Microsoft Office Suite, and basic data reporting tools.
- Flexibility to attend evening or weekend events as needed.
