Role Description
RITS is seeking independent contractors to support its AI Summer Camp, hosted at the VCU College of Engineering (Engineering Research Building – ERB) during the week of July 20–24 in Richmond, VA.
This is a short-term, project-based role ideal for college engineering students with an interest in artificial intelligence and mentorship. Contractors will support the delivery of camp programming by facilitating student engagement, guiding small groups through hands-on activities and projects, and contributing to a positive and collaborative learning environment.
Camp programming takes place between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Contractors are expected to be available during these hours to support camp activities. An optional orientation session (up to 5 hours) will be offered in late June to familiarize contractors with the program structure and materials.
Compensation & Perks
- $15–$20/hour, depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
- Support the facilitation of AI and STEM activities and student projects
- Guide small groups of students through structured programming
- Encourage participation, collaboration, and problem-solving

- Coordinate with fellow contractors and program leads as needed
Qualifications
- Current college student (engineering or STEM-related field preferred)
- Interest in artificial intelligence and emerging technologies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with youth or in team-based environments is a plus
- Reliable, organized, and able to engage effectively with students
- Must be able to pass a background check prior to engagement
