Job Qualifications
Education: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in teaching, curriculum, leadership, or related education field.
Certification or Licensure: Valid Georgia Educator’s Certificate issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission, leadership certification preferred.
Skills: Knowledge of adult learning styles and effective methods of training. Familiarity and knowledge of the Georgia evaluation systems for all employees. Knowledge of the Georgia Professional Standards Commission certification process.
Work Experience: A minimum of three to five years of teaching experience, leadership experience preferred.
Primary Duty
This position is responsible for overseeing the certified and classified performance evaluations for all employees and managing the certification renewal process for all employees certified by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission. The specialist will provide training, support, and capacity building throughout the district.

- Provides support, guidance, and district-level training on evaluation systems for all employees.
- Provides support and guidance on certification renewal for all employees certified by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission.
- Provides technical support on the evaluation system.
- Provides an understanding of standards and calibration for performance evaluation.
- Works cooperatively toward building systems in each school that will be able to provide ongoing support to teachers in the realm of evaluation.
- Provides technical assistance to principals and/or managers to drive evaluation success in every school and office.
- Conducts data analysis.
- Maintains and runs reports.
- Works cooperatively with the department leaders and other appropriate administrative staff in identifying needs and providing training to support identified needs.
- Monitors and supports ESSA In-Field reporting.
- The employee shall carry out such other and further duties, whether specifically listed above or not,
