JOB REQUIREMENTS: This is a Limited Term Employment opportunity for 20

hours a week until June 2027. Purpose of Position The primary purpose of

the Substance Use Prevention & Intervention Project Lead position is to

design and implement a district-wide multi-tiered system of supports

(MTSS) for Substance Use (SU) with a strong equity lens to ensure all

students have access to a safe and healthy learning environment. The

Substance Use Prevention & Intervention Project Lead will coordinate the

district\'s efforts to prevent and address substance use among students.

This role involves developing, implementing, and evaluating

comprehensive prevention programs, providing intervention and support

services, and fostering collaborative partnerships with school staff,

families, and community organizations. This role also will be

responsible for developing a transition plan towards creating a

sustainable Substance Use Prevention & Intervention program within

MMSD\'s organizational structure. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This Project Lead will support the targeted population of upper

elementary students and secondary students by: Working with the schools

and central office AOD/Substance Use Workgroup to clarify policies and

procedures, which includes identifying school-specific interventions

offered to students Creating a school-specific substance use tiered

intervention plan and supporting the implementation of Supporting

skills-based health education curriculum Supporting implementation of

the substance use group interventions for students in middle and high

school Centering student voice in all projects, including students whose

voices have been historically and systemically marginalized. Supporting

SBIRT Training for secondary Student Support Team (SST)

Reviewing/advising all of our current documents and support data

management for accurate reporting The Project Lead will use their

expertise and skills to accomplish the following outcomes: Present their

report on the review of MMSD SU policies, procedures, and practices to

determine strengths, areas of growth, and recommended next steps. Work

with existing structures of support for SU interventions to increase

access for students to those interventions and include progress updates

to the SU workgroup on a regular basis, including data collection on

usage. Support expansion of the health education curriculum related to

SU and work to create district systems to collect data around

instruction and increased knowledge and skill. Work with school-based

student support teams and school administration to roll out any proposed

and accepted changes to policies and procedures. Lead the SU workgroup

and report on the review of MMSD SU policies, procedures, and practices

to determine strengths, areas of growth, and recommended next steps Work

with Mental Health & Well-Being Team to provide school-based Student

Support Teams with a menu of interventions and supports available and

offer professional development training. Will work together to

analyze/apply data to determine whether any changes to approach to

intervention accessibility are needed. In coordination with the Physical

Education, Health, and Wellness Coordinator will work together through

ongoing, consistent (bi-weekly) meetings to determine how expansion of

the health education curriculum is progressing and whether changes need

to be made based on data collected. Other duties as assigned. Education,

partners. inimum of three years of professional experience with a

strong SU focus Familiarity with aspects of the implementation of SBIRT
