What are the responsibilities and job description for the EMT Intern position at Richmond County Ambulance Service?
Qualifications
•The successful candidate will enroll, attend, and successfully complete all requirements of a state-approved EMT education program
•A one-year work commitment to RCA is required
•18 years of age or older
•Gain successful enrollment to an EMT program
•Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
•Successful obtainment of National Registry Certification at the EMT level within 30 days of course completion
•Successful completion of the American Heart Association CPR program for Healthcare Providers
•Successful completion of a Hazardous Materials – Awareness level program
•Successful completion of NIMS/ICS 100, 700, & 800 programs
•Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
Responsibilities
•Responds to emergency and non-emergency ambulance responses to provide efficient and immediate care to include the critically injured or ill
•Selects and uses personal protective equipment appropriate to the level of anticipated hazard
•Complete patient records and required state charts on all transports and transfers performed
•Complete a legible narrative description of the patient's condition
•Demonstrates cognitive competency of EMT knowledge measured by quizzes and examinations
