JOB General Description: The Coordinator of Correctional Programs, under the direction of the Dean of Adult Education and the general supervision of the Executive Vice President/Chief Academic Officer will oversee all College & Career Readiness and vocational courses while serving as liaison between correctional facilities and college. - Duties and Responsibilities of the Position:
- Plan, schedule and create classes in ADVANSYS and/or Colleague working with correctional educational staff and college instructors to ensure instructional and enrollment needs are met.
- Complete faculty observations, class visitations, end of course documentation, and other required paperwork ensuring accuracy, data integrity and timely submission.
- Maintain, train, coordinate, supervise, and assist faculty/staff in the provision of quality instruction in compliance with NCCCS CCR and RichmondCC policies and procedures.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of WIOA Title II programming, NRS requirements, and high school equivalency policies.
- Design specialized and required courses including Integrated English Literacy and Civics Education (IELCE) and Integrated Education and Training (IET) programs.
- Oversee and occasionally conduct required National Reporting System (NRS) testing and/or high school equivalency testing in the correctional setting, as needed.
- Conduct personnel evaluations as required by the College. Assist in facilitating professional development, creation of goals, and monitor program performance, effectiveness, and feasibility.
- Serve as the point of contact/liaison between prison and College staff. Attend all meetings required by the College and/or correctional facility and receive all requests for programming as determined by the correctional facilities.
- Maintain open and clear communication with Dean, make recommendations regarding programming with the goal of expanding opportunities to incarcerated adults while maintaining positive relations with correctional facilities.
- Work closely with Adult Education team to meet programmatic goals and directives to include auditing of course records, data entry, ADVANSYS, and approvals.
