Richmond Allergy and Asthma Specialists is a privately-owned specialty practice dedicated to identifying the root causes of patients’ allergy and asthma symptoms. We are known for our thorough evaluations and commitment to providing the most effective treatment options to help our patients feel better.
This is a nonexempt, clerical position responsible for providing administrative support to the Allergy Laboratory Nurse Supervisor and Allergy Laboratory Nurse Manager, as well as assisting laboratory nursing staff with daily operations.
This position operates in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical environment and requires the ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and remain composed under pressure.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Provide daily administrative support to the Allergy Laboratory Nurse Supervisor and Nurse Manager
- Answer laboratory phones, take accurate messages, and route calls appropriately
- Communicate with patients electronically in a professional and timely manner
- Clean and prepare exam rooms efficiently between patients
- Pull, organize, and file patient charts in a timely and accurate manner
- Process incoming and outgoing faxes and distribute promptly throughout the day
- Maintain an organized work area to support efficiency and workflow
- Assist with care and maintenance of departmental equipment and supplies
- Manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail
- Prioritize workload effectively in a busy clinical environment with frequent interruptions
- Fulfill organizational responsibilities, including promoting patient rights and escalating concerns appropriately
- Attend and participate in team and departmental meetings
- Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and company policy
- Represent Richmond Allergy and Asthma Specialists in a professional and positive manner
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in a healthcare or clinical setting required
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment required
- Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage competing responsibilities
- Ability to remain calm, professional, and efficient under pressure
- Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills
- Basic knowledge of medical office procedures and HIPAA compliance preferred
