Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic educational leader to serve as a Middle School Principal. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in instructional leadership, organizational management, and effective human relations, with a passion for student achievement and community engagement. This role requires a Master's Degree in Educational Administration or a related field, a valid Washington State Principal certificate, and at least three years of K-12 teaching experience. Prior administrative experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide visionary instructional leadership that aligns with district goals and state standards
- Develop and implement school improvement plans focused on student achievement
- Supervise, evaluate, and support teaching and support staff
- Facilitate professional development and cultivate a culture of continuous improvement
- Oversee curriculum alignment with Common Core State Standards and integration of Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium
- Use data to guide instructional practices and inform decisions
- Lead the creation of master schedules and manage school operations effectively
- Promote strong community and parental engagement and build trust and collaboration
- Oversee student activities and athletic programming, including the Associated Student Body (ASB)
- Interpret and enforce district policies and manage the school budget responsibly
- Model and foster ethical leadership and professional conduct
Skills
- Exceptional instructional and organizational leadership
- Strong knowledge of Common Core, TPEP evaluations, and Washington State education policy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Experience with curriculum development, assessment strategies, and data analysis
- Ability to inspire, motivate, and lead staff and students
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Competence in managing school budgets and aligning resources with goals
- Commitment to equity, positive school climate, and community involvement
- Technological fluency and ability to integrate technology into school management and instruction
