EDUCATION/LICENSE/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

- Completed 60 clock hours of educational training leading to an early childhood/child
- development degree or CDA credential.
- Such additional qualifications as the Board or the State of Indiana shall require.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned
- Responsible for the development and presentation of learning materials and instructional exercises for preschool students.
- Responsible for non-instructional functions related to providing the instructional program for preschool students.
- Responsible for the daily care of infants and toddlers, including feeding, hygiene, diaper changing.
- Responsible for setup of classroom and preparing materials for specialized instructional units for infants and toddlers.
- Responsible for small group and individual instruction in classroom for infants and toddlers.
- Responsible for maintaining appropriate teacher to student ratio and student safety at all times.
- Operates standard school equipment such as laminator, copier, audiovisual, etc.
- Takes in-service training as directed by building administration.
- Maintains professional appearance and behavior while on duty.
- Maintains regular and prompt attendance.
- Effectively completes regular and other job performance criteria as assigned.
- Promotes good public relations for the school district and community.
- Remains free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance abuse in the workplace throughout his/her employment with the Corporation.
- Maintains a high degree of confidentiality.
- Performs such other tasks and assumes such other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned.
- Be able to effectively work with other teachers, instructional assistants, parents, and students in order to meet the academic, social, physical, and emotional needs of students.
- Complies with all state licensing requirements.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to student, parents and/or staff.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to perform basic arithmetical calculation.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete
variables in standardized situations.
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to operate copying machines and computers. Ability to assume responsibility for supervising students, understand and carry out oral and written instructions. Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies. Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program; ability to plan and implement lessons based on division and school objectives and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned. Ability to use appropriate language and accompanying techniques with young children on one-to-one basis as well as in groups. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers and parents; skill in oral and written communication.
