Richfield Public School Academy, a charter school in Flint, MI, is hiring a part time GSRP Preschool Aide. 12-15 hours per week.

The Preschool Aide provides support to the teaching staff by helping maintain a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment for preschool children. This position assists with daily classroom routines, supervises children during designated activities, and provides classroom coverage to ensure compliance with licensing requirements and GSRP staffing practices. The Preschool Aide works collaboratively with the Lead and Associate Teachers to promote children's health, safety, learning, and overall well-being.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
● Provide classroom supervision during teacher breaks while maintaining a safe, positive, and developmentally appropriate environment.
● Ensure children are continuously supervised, safe, and accounted for at all times in accordance with Michigan Child Care Licensing Rules and GSRP requirements. ● Assist with serving breakfast, lunch, snacks, and family-style meal routines while encouraging independence and appropriate social skills.
● Supervise and actively engage with children during outdoor recess and gross motor activities.
● Assist with classroom transitions, arrival, dismissal, restroom routines, and other daily activities.
● Participate in field trips by assisting with student supervision, safety, attendance, and transportation procedures as assigned.
● Support teachers with classroom organization, preparation of materials, and maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly learning environment.
● Build positive, respectful relationships with children, families, and staff. ● Maintain confidentiality regarding students and families.
● Follow all Richfield Early Learning Center policies, Michigan Child Care Licensing Rules, GSRP guidelines, and school safety procedures.
● Attend required trainings and staff meetings as assigned.
● Perform other duties as assigned by the Preschool Director.
Qualifications
● High school diploma or GED required.
● Experience working with preschool-aged children preferred.
● Ability to work cooperatively with children, families, and staff members.
● Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
● Demonstrate reliability, flexibility, and professionalism.
● Must successfully complete all required background checks, fingerprinting, and meet Michigan Child Care Licensing requirements for employment in a licensed child care center.
Physical Requirements
● Frequently stand, walk, bend, kneel, and sit on the floor with children. ● Lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
● Ability to supervise children indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. ● Respond quickly to children's safety needs and emergencies.
