In this energetic role, you will be responsible for ensuring all areas are spotless, well-maintained, and properly cared for to support the daily operations of our facilities. Schedule is 1 day a week for approximately 4 to 6 hours. This location is for the state of Maine at one of its armory's. This position will require a background check.
Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of all designated areas, including offices, restrooms, hallways, and common spaces using appropriate cleaning supplies and equipment
- Handle industrial cleaning tasks in storage areas or manufacturing zones to ensure safety and hygiene standards are met
- Maintain cleanliness of windows, walls, furniture, and fixtures to uphold high standards of appearance
- Operate janitorial equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to safety protocols
- Support with porter duties such as waste removal, restocking supplies, and ensuring pathways are clear and hazard-free
Skills
- Proven experience in cleaning or janitorial roles with a focus on commercial or industrial environments
- Strong knowledge of custodial techniques including floor care, buffing, and detailed cleaning procedures
- Excellent attention to detail with a proactive approach to cleanliness and safety standards
- Ability to operate cleaning machinery safely and efficiently
- Good physical stamina for standing, bending, lifting, and performing manual tasks throughout the shift
