Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
- Record monthly adjusting journal entries.
- Reconcile and balance general ledger accounts, including researching account discrepancies.
- Assist in financial statement preparation by generating reports from accounting software.
- Allocate credit card expenses across various entities and real estate properties.
- Perform variance analysis of expenses for both residential and commercial assets.
- Organize incoming mail and account statements; maintain both electronic and paper filing systems.
- Assist with the preparation of supporting documentation for annual tax filings.
- Support other accounting and finance functions and projects as needed.
Qualifications
- 2–4 years of experience in accounting or finance REQUIRED
- Experience in multifamily real estate is preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Highly detail-oriented, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with senior members of other departments.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accurate typing skills.
- Experience with accounting software; familiarity with RealPage or Yardi is a plus.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Familiarity with basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Ability to multitask while maintaining a positive and motivated attitude.
- Commitment to accuracy and efficiency in all work.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
