Role Description The field Foreman Ironworker role at RICHARDSON STEEL, INC. is a full-time, field position based in Spring Valley, CA. Day-to-day responsibilities include working with a crew to install structural/misc. steel with according to project specifications. The field Foreman Ironworker will work at varying heights, follow detailed blueprints, assist with rigging and hoisting materials, operate forklifts, and ensure proper use of fall protection and other safety systems. The role also involves collaborating with site supervisors and other trades, maintaining tools and equipment, and complying with all company and regulatory safety standards.
Qualifications
- Proficiency working with iron and structural steel, including installation and alignment of beams, columns, and other components.
- Demonstrated ability to safely operate power tools relevant to ironwork, such as drills, grinders, and cutting equipment.
- Experience with welding processes appropriate for structural steel, with a focus on quality and safety.
- Knowledge of rigging techniques for lifting, moving, and securing heavy materials using cranes and hoists.
- Strong understanding and consistent use of fall protection and other safety practices when working at heights.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and job specifications.
- Physical capability to perform demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working in various weather conditions.
- Previous experience as an ironworker; relevant certifications or apprenticeship completion are a plus.
- Reliable attendance, effective communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a diverse team.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus, but not a requirement.
