We currently have an opportunity for a Packaging Operator 1 at our Memphis, TN facility.RESPONSIBILITIES:Understand and comply with all workplace health and safety requirements, company policies and procedures and general workplace rulesParticipate in the day to day health and safety program by working in a safe manner at all times:Always using the required personal protective equipmentEnsuring that authorized work is completed safelyUtilizing required controls to prevent risk of exposure to hazardsParticipating actively in incident investigations, training, and other health and safety initiativesReporting all unsafe acts and conditions and all incidents, near misses and workplace injuries/illnesses as per company procedureCapability operating the filler/capper and one or multiple of packer, palletizer, labeler, case erector or de-palletizer. May assist with change oversOperate various production and packaging related equipment to support plant production. This includes performing the necessary physical activity for purposes of operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting equipment on the production linesOperate, monitor and troubleshoot automated packaging and related equipment such as case erector, bottle filler and packaging box filler in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentEnsure quality standards are met through samples at required intervals and perform related actionsSet up equipment for production and ensure all necessary materials are available, replenish as needed per production requirementsPerform visual inspections of production and document resultsDetermine and report malfunctions to the appropriate partiesOperate and monitor all packaging and related equipment and control systemsEnsure each process is operated within the given range of parametersComplete all logs and related paperwork in a timely, accurate and professional mannerAssist in basic preventative maintenance procedures of equipment and basic general housekeeping standardsRegular preventative maintenance as assignedOther duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to work a flexible work schedule and overtime when neededAble to read, write, and communicate effectivelyUnderstand instruction and follow directionWork primarily in a warm to hot environmentKnowledge of LEDS system is a plusPrevious experience within a high-speed industrial environment and / or knowledge of industrial technology a plusMust have the ability to lift, push and pull up to 50 pounds, reach above head height, squat, kneel, bend and reachMust have the ability to stand and walk for long periods of timeAbility to operate a forkliftMaintain clean and safe work area at all timeAdhere to all company policies and proceduresHigh School diploma or GED requiredRichardson is recognized as a global leader in agriculture and food processing and has over 4,000 employees across the US, Canada, the UK, and Europe.
