A Lead Pack Operator is responsible for the overall supervision of the packaging warehouse and employees.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all scheduled production can be made, with complete stocking of all raw materials and packaging materials before the line is set up.
- Optimize operational efficiencies to support the facility's production, packaging, warehousing, and shipping operations.
- Optimize ingredient and packaging material usage to minimize waste.
- Facilitate maintenance activities to minimize equipment downtime.
- Schedule labor according to the production needs and guidelines.
- Ensure the production floor is organized and clean at all times.
- Work with other departments to ensure production is fulfilling Quality and production standards.
- Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
- Make sure all production personnel follow SOP’s, GMP’s, OSHA and HAACP guidelines at all times.
- Make recommendations for line efficiency and productivity improvements.
- Communicate effectively with other supervisors in mill and loadout departments and assist when needed.
- This role requires regular presence on the plant floor, requires lifting up to 50 lbs. and occasional work in poor weather conditions, including heat, cold, rain, or snow.
- 5 years experience in packaging/warehouse supervision.
- Experience operating tractor-trailer and forklift.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
