Job Title: Cut Shop Fabricator – Steel Stairs & Structural Steel

Position Summary:
We are seeking a dependable and detail-oriented Cut Shop Fabricator to join our team. This position is responsible for preparing steel materials for fabrication by operating various machines and tools. The ideal candidate will have experience in a fabrication shop environment and be familiar with common metal cutting and processing equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain various cut shop equipment, including:
- Bandsaws
- Bender
- Cope machine
- Ironworkers
- Forklifts
- Measure, bend, punch, form, and cut steel components according to shop drawings and cut lists.
- Verify dimensions and tolerances using tape measures, squares, and other measuring tools.
- loading and unloading steel using forklifts and material handling equipment.
- Label and organize cut materials for easy identification by fabrication teams.
- Follow safety procedures and wear proper PPE at all times.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance and keep work areas clean and organized.
- Work as part of a team to meet production deadlines and quality standards.
Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of experience in a fabrication or metal shop environment preferred.
- Basic knowledge of steel materials (plate, angle, HSS, W beams, channel, etc.).
- Ability to read and interpret basic fabrication drawings and cut lists.
- Comfortable operating hand tools, saws, and heavy equipment.
- Forklift experience or certification (or willingness to obtain).
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work on your feet for extended periods.
- Willingness to learn and follow direction from lead personnel.
Preferred Skills (Not Required):
- Experience with press brake, shear, or ironworker operation.
- Familiarity with structural or stair fabrication.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
Working Conditions:
- Full-time, shop-based position.
- Fast-paced environment with exposure to heat, noise, and heavy materials.
- Steel-toe boots and PPE required.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
