About Us:
Richards Welding & Metal Fabrication is looking for a detail-oriented and dependable Payroll Specialist to manage all aspects of our payroll operations. Please note: this is an entry level position.
Position Overview:
As our Payroll Specialist, you will ensure our team is paid accurately and on time. You will handle regular payroll processing, track hours, manage benefits deductions, and maintain compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process weekly/bi-weekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees.
- Review, verify, and reconcile timecards, overtime, and paid time off (PTO).
- Manage employee onboarding and offboarding in the payroll system, including direct deposit setups, tax withholdings, and garnishments.
- Administer and reconcile payroll deductions for benefits, 401(k), and other insurance programs.
- Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal payroll regulations and tax laws.
- Address and resolve employee inquiries regarding paychecks, deductions, and tax forms.
- Generate regular payroll, labor, and tax reports for management and accounting teams.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data entry, basic formulas, sorting, and filtering).
- High level of data accuracy, attention to detail, and discretion with confidential information.
- Strong communication skills to assist employees with payroll questions.
- Bilingual: Spanish/English preferred.
