We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our CPA firm. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for multiple clients across various industries. The ideal candidate is comfortable managing day-to-day bookkeeping, reconciling accounts, assisting with business property tax, sales tax filings, 1099 preparation, and preparing clean financial data for tax preparation and advisory services.
The Bookkeeper will work closely with CPAs and firm staff to ensure client books are accurate, current, and ready for month-end and year-end reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain bookkeeping records for multiple business clients
- Record and categorize financial transactions accurately
- Perform monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
- Prepare and review journal entries as needed
- Assist with month-end and year-end close procedures
- Reconcile loan accounts, payroll liabilities, and balance sheet accounts
- Reconcile payroll or coordinate with payroll providers such as ADP, Paychex, or Rippling
- Prepare sales tax filings and other recurring state filings
- Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation support
- Review client bookkeeping for accuracy and identify discrepancies
- Communicate with clients regarding missing information, bookkeeping questions, and account clarification
- Assist CPAs with tax preparation by ensuring books are complete and organized
- Upload and organize client documentation within secure portals or document management systems
- Support cleanup projects and historical bookkeeping catch-up work
Qualifications
- Previous bookkeeping experience, preferably within a CPA firm or public accounting environment
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements
- Experience managing multiple client accounts simultaneously
- High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and client service skills

Salary : $70,000 - $80,000
