We are seeking a skilled Brick Mason to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in masonry and be proficient in various construction techniques. This role involves working with brick, block, and stone to create durable structures and surfaces. The Brick Mason will be responsible for both new installations and restoration projects, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards. Previous experience working in historic preservation.
Responsibilities
- Construct and repair walls, floors, and other structures using bricks, blocks, or stones.
- Restore existing masonry by repairing damaged areas and ensuring structural integrity.
- Collaborate with other tradespeople on projects involving drywall, stucco, trim carpentry, concrete finishing, and frame carpentry.
- Use hand tools and power tools effectively to complete tasks efficiently.
- Follow blueprints and project specifications to ensure accuracy in measurements and layouts.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Brick Mason or similar role in the construction industry.
- Proficiency in masonry techniques including installation of brick, block, stone, drywall, stucco, trim carpentry, concrete finishing, and frame carpentry.
- Strong understanding of construction safety practices.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor for extended periods.
- Valid driver's license may be required for transportation to job sites.
