Position Summary
Rich Health Solutions is seeking a motivated, compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our growing interdisciplinary team on a part-time basis.
This position focuses on consultation-based services for individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities receiving Virginia Medicaid Waiver services. The SLP will assess communication and functional needs, develop individualized recommendations, provide caregiver coaching, and collaborate with the individual's support team to improve communication, safety, participation, and overall quality of life.
Services are provided primarily in homes, community settings, and day support programs, with some virtual visits when clinically appropriate.
This position is ideal for a self-starter who enjoys working independently while remaining an active member of a collaborative clinical team.
Responsibilities
- Conduct speech-language and functional communication assessments.
- Develop individualized recommendations and practical intervention strategies.
- Provide therapeutic consultation, caregiver education, and coaching to families, residential providers, and support staff.
- Address speech, language, cognitive-communication, social communication, executive functioning, feeding/swallowing concerns (when appropriate), and functional communication needs.
- Recommend environmental modifications, communication supports, visual systems, and assistive technology as appropriate.
- Collaborate with Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Behavior Analysts, Recreational Therapists, support coordinators, caregivers, and other members of the interdisciplinary team.
- Complete documentation accurately and in compliance with Virginia Medicaid Waiver and Rich Health Solutions requirements.
- Independently manage a caseload while maintaining productivity and timely documentation.
- Coordinate directly with clients, caregivers, residential providers, and support coordinators to schedule appointments and maintain consistent communication.
- Effectively manage and organize a flexible work schedule across multiple service locations.
- Participate in team meetings and collaborate with other clinicians to achieve the best outcomes for individuals served.
QualificationsRequired
- Current Virginia Speech-Language Pathologist license.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP).
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Ability to travel throughout the assigned service area.
Preferred
- Experience working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
- Experience providing consultation services through Medicaid Waiver programs.
- Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
