Position Overview:
Riceland Healthcare is seeking a dynamic and relationship-driven Physician Relations Liaison to strengthen our presence in the Southeast Texas market. Based primarily at Riceland Medical Center in Winnie, this field-based position serves as the primary liaison between Riceland Healthcare and physicians, healthcare providers, community organizations, and referral sources.
The Physician Relations Liaison will be responsible for developing and maintaining strategic relationships that increase awareness of Riceland's services, strengthen referral networks, and support growth across all hospital and outpatient service lines.
While Winnie will be the primary market, the role will also collaborate with Riceland's broader physician relations and marketing teams to expand our reach throughout Southeast Texas, including Mont Belvieu, Baytown, Anahuac, Port Arthur, Nederland, Groves, China, Sour Lake, and Beaumont.
Key Responsibilities
Physician & Referral Source Engagement
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for physicians, physician practices, clinics, urgent care centers, EMS providers, nursing homes, rehabilitation facilities, long-term care facilities, and other referral sources within the assigned territory.
- Build, develop, and maintain long-term relationships through regular in-person visits, scheduled meetings, and ongoing communication.
- Educate providers and referral partners about Riceland Healthcare's services, specialty programs, physicians, and new service offerings.
- Promote hospital services including Primary Care, Emergency Services, Imaging, Laboratory, Behavioral Health, Inpatient Services, Specialty Clinics, and other outpatient services.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen physician engagement and improve referral patterns.
Community Outreach & Strategic Partnerships
- Identify and develop new referral sources and strategic partnerships throughout the assigned market.
- Build relationships with employers, community organizations, hospital district leadership, local businesses, and civic organizations.
- Coordinate introductions and meetings between healthcare providers, hospital leadership, and community stakeholders.
- Support community health initiatives, health fairs, wellness programs, and outreach events that enhance Riceland's visibility.
- Represent Riceland Healthcare at physician meetings, networking events, chamber functions, and community activities.
Marketing & Visibility
- Develop and distribute a local hospital news bulletin and community updates to keep stakeholders informed of new physicians, service expansions, and success stories.
- Collaborate with the established digital marketing team by sharing field activities, highlighting community leader meetings, and generating content that strengthens brand recognition.
- Represent Riceland Healthcare at community events, lunch-and-learns, and provider engagement sessions.
Internal Coordination & Reporting
- Maintain awareness of patients transitioning across service lines and notify relevant departments (e.g., hospice) to ensure continuity of care.
- Utilize a structured monthly tracking system (via Excel) to report on engagement frequency, referral growth, and service line utilization trends.
- Provide leadership with data-informed insights into market gaps, barriers to referrals, and opportunities for expansion.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or a related field. (Relevant master’s degree is preferred).
- 3–5 years of experience in one or more of the following:
o Physician relations
o Healthcare marketing
o Business development
o Provider outreach
o Healthcare sales
o Hospital operations
o Medical practice management
- Experience working with hospitals, physician practices, healthcare systems, or medical groups is strongly preferred.
- Experience developing referral networks and community partnerships is highly desirable.
