Our Quality Technicians are responsible for standard operating procedures, including programming of the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and the Optical Comparator. This position performs incoming quality inspection of purchased materials and services through the use of established inspection equipment and sampling plans. The quality team monitors and tracks company gauges, gauge usages and ensures calibration labels are present and accurate under quality system controls. Our quality technicians maintain, train and audit for nonconforming product (NCP) to ensure as an organization we are meeting company standards, customer needs and service expectations.

Essential Job Functions/Major Tasks
- Recall and calibration of company and employee-owned gauges
- Monitor and maintain the NCP process
- Reviewing rejected items, data collection and entry.
- Control and tracking materials and documentation throughout the NCP process.
- Coordination of material disposition between purchasing, scheduling, product management and the material suppliers.
- Enters soft routings when material is to be repaired or reworked in the plant
- Performs final inspections and verifications of custom and special-order machined parts.
- Review gauge usage to determine calibration frequency
- Operates various quality inspection equipment to assure specifications are maintained for both purchased and manufactured products.
- Updates inspection instructions in systems as necessary.
- Perform first article inspections on prototype parts and sample parts received from vendors.
- Completed reports of measurement findings.
- Ensures products are produced to specifications and the customer quality expectations are met.
- Prepare gauges prior to job set-ups and assist employees with the selection of gauges pertaining to in-process production inspection.
- Purchases new and replacement gauges as required.
- Participates in internal ISO Audits.
- Assists the quality engineer, when assigned, in the new part numbering process.
- Set incoming inspection criteria to assure quality parts are received and used in our customer orders.
- Associate Degree in Quality Engineering or equivalent work experience and training.
- Quality experience and practical application.
- Blueprint reading skills.
- Good working knowledge of geometric tolerancing.
- Strong knowledge in calibration of measuring and test equipment.
- Good working knowledge of statistics (i.e. interpretation of sample plans, PC curves confidence limits and S.P.C.)
- Familiarity with calibration and inspection tools and requirements.
- Detail oriented.
- Familiarity with CMM operation and programming.
- ASQ Certified Quality Technician preferred.
- Willingness to do continuous education and training to obtain certifications as required for business needs.
