What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Operations position at Rice Lake Weighing Systems?
Rice Lake Weighing Systems is seeking a hands-on Director of Operations to lead our domestic production operations. Reporting to the VP of Manufacturing, the selected individual will initially be responsible for production in machining, fabrication, assembly and finishing. Over time, this position will also assume responsibility for Scheduling, Manufacturing Engineering, Maintenance and Facilities. Immediate success will come from Lean Systems optimization and effective partnerships with all departments. Long-term achievement will require investment in people, scalable structures, systems discipline and leveraging technology.

The Director of Operations will need to be highly organized with the ability to remain flexible to the ever-changing needs of the business. The minimum qualifications for the Director of Operations include a relevant Bachelor’s Degree, at least 10 years of industrial manufacturing experience that includes Plant Management and Lean-based continuous improvement in an ISO environment; Manufacturing Engineering experience preferred. Experience with steel converting, fabrication, welding, painting and assembly required. Excellent organization, communication, computer, analytical, decision-making and problem-solving skills required.
