Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining financial records, preparing reports, performing account reconciliations, preparing monthly billings and answering client inquiries, assisting with budget preparation, and ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong foundation in accounting principles and a desire to grow within a dynamic organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain financial records and reports.
- Reconcile bank and general ledger accounts.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Process journal entries and maintain the general ledger.
- Assist with audits by providing necessary documents and information.
- Prepare and file tax forms, including sales and use tax returns.
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
- Process billings, accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field OR 4 years of accounting experience (internships included).
Skills:
- Solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with ERP systems and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP).
Working Conditions:
- Office environment.
- Additional hours may be required based on workload.
