We're currently seeking an experienced and dependable Oral Surgery Dental Assistant to join our growing team in High Point, NC This is a great opportunity for someone with sedation and surgical assisting experience to work alongside an expert oral surgeon in a supportive, patient-focused environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the oral surgeon with surgical procedures, including extractions, dental implants, and biopsies.
- Provide chairside assistance during IV sedation and nitrous oxide cases, monitoring patient vitals and comfort in accordance with safety protocols.
- Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, supplies, and operatory setup with strict adherence to infection control and sterilization standards.
- Take and process digital dental radiographs (X-rays).
- Educate patients on pre- and post-operative instructions and sedation protocols.
- Monitor patients pre-, intra-, and post-operatively, recognizing and responding appropriately to patient needs.
- Maintain accurate and detailed surgical and patient records.
- Collaborate closely with the front office and surgical teams for seamless patient care and scheduling.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and all clinical safety standards.

What You Bring:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Completion of an accredited dental assisting program preferred.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in oral surgery and assisting with sedation procedures (IV and/or nitrous oxide) strongly preferred.
- Active CPR/BLS certification required; sedation monitoring certification a plus (if applicable in NC).
- Current radiology certification as required by North Carolina regulations.
- Strong communication skills and ability to comfort patients during high-anxiety procedures.
