Position Summary

The Building & Grounds Maintenance Technician is responsible for the general maintenance, repair, appearance, and operational readiness of RICCA's three-building campus and five-acre property. This position works independently to identify maintenance needs, perform repairs, coordinate outside contractors, and ensure our facilities remain safe, clean, and welcoming.

While this position offers exceptional scheduling flexibility, the successful candidate must be available to respond to occasional maintenance emergencies outside of normal working hours.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs throughout all campus buildings.
• Diagnose maintenance problems and develop practical repair solutions.
• Repair plumbing fixtures, faucets, toilets, drains, and minor plumbing issues.
• Repair drywall, patch holes, texture, and paint walls as needed.
• Perform basic carpentry repairs including doors, locks, trim, cabinets, shelving, and fixtures.
• Perform minor electrical repairs such as replacing switches, outlets, lighting fixtures, and bulbs.
• Repair or replace appliances and facility equipment when appropriate.
• Unclog drains and perform preventive plumbing maintenance.
• Maintain the appearance of the campus including:
• Tree and shrub trimming
• Weed control
• General grounds cleanup
• Exterior maintenance
• Perform cleaning duties when needed to maintain a professional environment.
• Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance concerns before they become major issues.
• Coordinate and oversee contracted vendors for:
• Lawn care
• HVAC preventative maintenance
• Pest control
• Other facility contractors
• Maintain maintenance records and recommend future repairs or capital improvements.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with applicable regulations.
• Participate in emergency maintenance response when necessary.

Qualifications

We're looking for someone who is resourceful, dependable, and enjoys figuring out how to fix things.

Required:

• Minimum 3 years of demonstrated experience in one or more skilled trades, including:
• Plumbing
• Electrical
• HVAC
• Carpentry
• Painting
• General construction or maintenance
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and safely perform physical work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience maintaining commercial buildings.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices.
• Experience coordinating outside contractors.
• General knowledge across multiple building trades.

Pay: $23.32 - $28.09 per hour
