Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient intake, including gathering medical histories and recording vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, respiration, and temperature.
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures by explaining processes and ensuring comfort.
- Support clinical procedures across various specialties including dermatology, hospital medicine, urgent care, emergency medicine, and outpatient clinics.
- Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems efficiently to document patient information accurately and maintain confidentiality.
- Perform basic diagnostic tasks such as taking X-rays or assisting with medication administration under supervision.
- Conduct ICD coding for diagnoses to ensure proper billing and documentation accuracy.
- Support inpatient and outpatient care by monitoring vital signs, assisting with medication administration, and providing compassionate patient service.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of clinical areas while adhering to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive patient care across various medical disciplines including internal medicine and physiology-focused specialties.
Experience
- Must be bilingual in Spanish and English
- Full Time position
- Certified Medical Assistant (Preferred)
- Experience with eClinicalWorks is preferred
- Prior experience working in internal medicine is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, ICD coding, and basic life support (BLS).
- Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology
- Experience in a clinical patient setting is preferred
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Basic computer literacy with intermediate Word, Outlook, Excel and EMR systems
- High school diploma or equivalent required
