Requirements / Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS • Varsity Head coaches need three (3) years of head coaching in Tennis at the high school, college, club or rec level within the last seven (7) years. • A verifiable record of having been part of a winning tradition, including post season C.I.F. playoff competition as a coach is desirable. • A proven verifiable record of positive staff, student and administrative support and relationships. • A proven verifiable record of placing appropriate emphasis on good sportsmanship, academic excellence, positive attitudes and character. • A demonstrated ability to work with parents and athletic booster clubs. • A demonstrated ability to serve as a positive role model for student athletes and a commitment to holding all students and adults associated with the program to the same standards. • A long-term commitment to develop and sustain a positive, winning tradition.
JOB REQUIREMENTS Applicants must be certified under Title V, C.C.R. Section 5593 and 5594, prior to the beginning of the CIF season of sport. The training and certification is available to all coaches on-line at www.nfhslearn.com. The following certifications must be completed before assuming individual coaching duties: • Fingerprints (Will be done upon selection of candidate) • First Aid and CPR (CPR is to be an in person course)(Only approved through the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association) • CIF Fundamentals of Coaching Certification • CIF Concussion in Sports Certification • CIF Heat Illness Prevention Certification • CIF Sudden Cardiac Arrest Certification • Current T.B. examination • Mandated Child Abuse Reporter Certification (upon hire)
