Maintenance Technician – Airfield OperationsLocation: Rhode IslandSchedule (3) Three-shifts Available:Monday–Friday 4:00 AM-12:00 PMTuesday-Saturday 7:00 AM-3:30 PMMonday–Friday |7:00 AM – 3:30 PMJob SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician – Airfield Operations to support airfield maintenance and construction operations. This position involves operating and servicing a wide range of motorized equipment and performing hands-on maintenance work in an outdoor environment. Work is performed year-round, often in proximity to aircraft, runways, and taxiways.Key ResponsibilitiesOperate and service light and heavy-duty motorized equipment used in airfield maintenance and constructionOperate heavy trucks, tractors, front-end loaders, backhoes, and power sweepersUse hand and power tools such as chainsaws, brush cutters, weed trimmers, and grindersPerform general airfield maintenance, construction support, and manual labor as requiredInspect, maintain, and care for assigned equipment (fuel, fluids, tires, lights, cleanliness)Request equipment repairs and perform minor emergency repairs when necessaryCommunicate using two-way radios and aircraft radios following established proceduresAdhere strictly to all safety and security protocols, including controlled access areasPerform snow plowing, sanding, and deicing operations during winter conditionsBe available to respond to weather and snow emergencies outside normal work hoursAssist skilled trades as needed and perform other related duties as assignedQualificationsHigh School Diploma or GED requiredMinimum 3 years of experience operating and servicing heavy motor equipment (external candidates)Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructionsDemonstrated commitment to safety and compliance with strict operational proceduresAbility to perform minor emergency equipment repairsLicenses & CertificationsValid Rhode Island CDL Class or Valid Rhode Island CDL Class BHoisting Engineer (Restricted) – must be obtained within 6 months of employment Physical RequirementsAbility to lift at least 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the workdayAbility to work at moderate heights and on laddersAbility to work outdoors in all weather conditionsWork EnvironmentOutdoor, year-round environment with exposure to heat, cold, wind, dust, and dampnessWork performed on and around active runways and taxiways requiring strong visual and auditory awarenessRegular use of safety equipment such as hard hats, goggles, and seatbelt restraintsEqual Opportunity EmployerThis employer is committed to equal employment opportunity and does not discriminate based on age, race, religion, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation or expression, political affiliation, marital status, veteran status, or non-disqualifying physical or mental disability.
