This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional with a strong foundation in Accounts Payable, Payroll, and financial reconciliations. The successful candidate will take ownership of domestic and international supplier accounts, manage end-to-end payables and payroll processes, and support the broader accounting function through bank, inventory, and intercompany reconciliations.

You’ll be central to ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness across key accounting operations, helping bridge day-to-day execution with strategic financial management.

Key Responsibilities

Accounts Payable & Vendor Management

• Oversee all Accounts Payable operations — including coding, approvals, posting, and payments.
• Manage domestic supplier and vendor accounts, ensuring timely and accurate settlements.
• Reconcile international manufacturer invoices, freight charges, and FX-related transactions.
• Maintain accurate and organized supplier records, ensuring compliance with company policy and tax requirements.
• Monitor AP aging reports and cash outflows, supporting effective cash flow management.
• Assist in implementing improved AP processes, controls, and automation opportunities.

Payroll & Employee Reimbursements

• Manage bi-weekly U.S. payroll processing, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
• Reconcile payroll accounts, tax withholdings, and benefit payments.
• Process staff reimbursements and corporate card expense allocations with accurate GL coding.
• Collaborate with HR to ensure employee data accuracy and timely pay adjustments.

Reconciliations & Financial Operations

• Perform monthly bank reconciliations across multiple entities and currencies.
• Assist in inventory reconciliations between Cin7, Shopify, and Xero, ensuring stock valuation accuracy.
• Support intercompany reconciliations and balance confirmations with the Australian HQ.
• Assist in month-end and year-end closing, including journal entries, accruals, and variance analysis.
• Support preparation of weekly cashflow summaries and management reporting.

Reporting & Compliance

• Assist with preparation of management financial reports, budgets, and audit documentation.
• Contribute to the development of accounting process documentation and policy updates.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, internal controls, and Rhythm’s global accounting standards.

Qualifications

• 5 years of accounting experience, with strong exposure to Accounts Payable and Payroll (apparel, retail, or CPG environment preferred).
• Experience reconciling international supplier/manufacturer invoices and FX transactions.
• Solid understanding of GAAP, general ledger structures, and cash flow principles.
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations, data analysis).
• Experience using Xero Accounting (highly advantageous).
• Familiarity with Shopify and Cin7 systems (strong advantage).
• Excellent communication, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Proactive, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
