Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role located in Tampa, FL, for an Production Designer. The Production Designer will be responsible for creating detailed production drawings for various projects. Ensuring adherence to project design and communicating production instructions clearly. This role bridges technical product knowledge with advanced AutoCAD proficiency to produce accurate, buildable drawings that align with project-specific engineering and company production standards.
Core Responsibilities
• Prepare, review, and maintain AutoCAD drawings for curtain wall, storefront, and related systems.
• Translate architectural and structural drawings into coordinated production details.
• Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and fabrication teams to ensure alignment and accuracy.
• Maintain CAD standards, templates, and block libraries.
• Manage plotting and output for submittal and fabrication drawing sets.
System & Product Knowledge
• Experience in curtain wall and storefront design, including joinery, anchorage, and glazing detailing.
• Understanding of extrusions, gaskets, anchors, and fabrication methods.
• Familiarity with shop drawing standards, manufacturing tolerances, and coordination requirements.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and structural plans.
• Experience with impact-rated or unitized systems is a strong plus.
AutoCAD Expertise
• Proficient in AutoCAD 2D for architectural detailing or construction (minimum 1-2 years of experience).
• Strong working knowledge of layers, xrefs, blocks, dimension styles, viewports, and layouts.
• Ability to develop and manage CAD templates, custom blocks, and sheet sets.
• Understanding of CTB/STB plot styles, lineweights, and print output control.
• Maintains clean, efficient drawing files and an organized CAD library.
• Familiarity with Revit, Inventor, or SolidWorks for 3D visualization is a plus.
